DEACON MINISTRY The Deacons are appointed to serve the church in any area of need that might arise. They assist the Pastor in carrying out the duties of his office. They support the spiritual ministry of the church, and are expected to serve by the example of their character and deeds.

 

DEACONESS MINISTRY A ministry of women who serve the Pastor by working alongside the Deacons and other ministries. They are also expected to provide examples of womanhood, morality and virtue to the congregation.

 

PASTORS AIDE MINISTRY They are a group of members commissioned to provide pastoral support. They perform caring deeds for the Pastor and his family. They host fundraisers throughout the year to finance these efforts.

 

TRUSTEE MINISTRY Trustees oversee and manage the cash flow and financial transactions of the church. They are also responsible for the physical maintenance of the church.

 

FLOCK MINISTRY Each member and their family is assigned to a flock. Flock members interact by sharing encouragement, congratulations, support and sympathy with each other through phone calls, cards, visitation and fellowship as the occasion requires. Flock Leaders facilitate this interaction by maintaining regular contact with members. Flock members meet at a gathering each 5th Sunday after worship service.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY Their purpose is to teach God's word and offer direct moral guidance. They teach classes for every stage of life on Sunday mornings. They also host celebratory productions during Christmas, Easter, Father's Day, Mother's Day, and events which provide interactive fellowship with the congregation as a whole. Some of these events include the Harvest Festival, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and church-wide summer outings.

 

CHURCH CHOIR Provides music for worship services at Mt. Calvary and accompanies the Pastor on visiting worship engagements. The Church Choir annually conducts a Christmas candlelight service and an Easter Concert. They also offer their musical ministry for memorials and funeral services.

 

MALE CHORUS The Male Chorus provides a unique touch to Sunday worship services by praising the LORD through song with the richness of the male voice. Although most of their service is performed at MCBC, the Male Chorus travels to provide praise at other churches upon invitation, and they also visit nursing homes to minister in song to those who are shut in.

 

COMBINED USHER BOARD This ministry combines Men and Women Ushers to serve as doorkeepers to the sanctuary. Their duties include: Greeting and escorting members and guests to their seats, taking coats, directing sanctuary traffic during offering, distributing bulletins, envelopes and fans, managing order during the service, allowing members and guests in at the appropriate times, and cleaning up after service, ensuring that Hymnals and Bibles are in their proper place.

 

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY They serve as universal greeters to welcome visitors to the service. They present a Welcome Booklet informing visitors about our church history, missions and ministries, as well as times of service and worship.

 

NURSES MINISTRY The Nurses ministry is on duty during each Sunday worship service. They tend to the physical, and medical needs of the Pastor, ministerial staff, and the congregation. They also assist bereaved families during funeral services.

 

YOUTH MINISTRY The Youth Ministry engages with the young members of the church, as well as those in the community. It's purpose is to educate and encourage young people to embrace their faith and become more involved in their spiritual lives. Programs, open activities, and events are organized and incorporated to support this purpose. Some divisions of the Youth Ministry include: Chosen Generation (Choir), The Youth Usher Board, Children's Church and Youth Retreats. Click mcbc youth! for more information.

 

SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY Their purpose is to encourage and support our youth in academic, athletic and cultural activities. They provide financial assistance to student members of the church who are seeking higher education by planning and conducting fundraisers, programs and events for their benefit

 

WISH (Women In Spiritual Harmony) They provide a forum for fellowship, encouragement and sisterhood amongst the female members of the church using Hebrews 10:23-25 as their scriptural guide. The forum includes monthly gatherings, both in house and away. These may include trips to the movies, Bible study discussions, meeting with women from other churches, prayer breakfasts, and more. The primary purpose is fellowship and community building among the women members of the church and community.

 

MEN'S FELLOWSHIP Provides a forum for fellowship and brotherhood among the male members of local church congregations. Includes monthly meetings that rotate lacation based on the churches represented.
