When It Seems that the Lord is Taking Too Long

This Sunday Reverend Davis ministered about calling on the Lord in times of trouble. His scripture reference was JOHN 11:6-7*.
Synopsis: Some of us only call on the Lord when something is wrong. Don't treat the Lord like a fire department - whom we do not call unless something is on fire! Instead, call on the Lord when everything is right. Call on Him before something bad happens, so He'll be there when it does.
Sometimes to us, it seems that the Lord is taking too long to come through, even when we have taken our troubles to Him in prayer. When we are sick we might wonder does the Lord really love us, because if He did we would not be sick in the first place. What we have to understand is that the Lord does not keep us from trouble, but when we are in it He does keep us.
Sometimes before the Lord can give us what we need, He has to deny us what we want. Before He can heal us, He has to afflict us, and before He can pick us up, He has to pull us down. God does this to increase our faith. He has a way of waiting until we give up before He shows up. When we give up and give it over to Him, that is when God takes over.
Give your burdens over to the Lord. When you have a problem and it looks like there is no way out - keep looking out for Jesus. Show the Lord where your troubles are, where you gave up, and where you laid it all down. He will show up and fix it for you.
